Save The Coffeeboy: Ransom Note Generator

Great for Wiki or Blog headers....or Just for Fun!

I really like this Ransom Note Generator...but it's a bit tricky...you have to play with it to get good results adding spaces and the like. But when you'e done you can download the image to your HD & i crop it with iPhoto but i think it's right nifty!
Here are some tips from the site

Tips:

» Use the button at the top of your picture to download it to your computer! See this page for more ideas!
» To align the text (left, center, or right) on this picture, just put spaces before or after any of the words until you like the way it looks.
» This particular image generator's font can benefit from using various upper and lower cased letters. TrY DoiNG iT foR DiFfeRenT ResULts!

Another Good (and fun!) Header Resource is Spell with Flickr...
this resource i think i really need to give a rest because i love it SO much i believe i've overused it! but it just charms me so...and i love playing with it because if you don't like a particular letter you can click it and get another - but sometimes you regret it...and can't get back the letter you just threw away! ....all of which has of course caused me to waste more time than i'd like to admit to get just the right look for my headers! LOL

both of these i mention on my Web 2.0h wikipage - and, as always, feel free to snag whatever you want from me and use it...just it would be lovely if you could pls give me a wee small credit at the bottom of whatever page you add it to with a link back. cheers!
professional thieving with attribution is an accepted teacher habit! at least i think so!

Please Don't feel Rejected!
You Don't need to Join a Wiki to Use it
Now...i'm getting a lot of people requesting to JOIN my wiki....and i'm incredibly flattered (and i'd love it if you follow me on Twitter!) but i gotta say no to this...
Why? Because yes, wiki's are collaborative...and that's why i LURVE them!...but if you're not a teacher in my middle school i'm not gonna let you EDIT our professional development wiki..right? cause though i'm sure you would add super cool stuff.... it's a sandbox for my teachers and staff. k? so feel free use whatever page, graphic, document there for yourself (giving wee attribution as requested above) but you don't have to join a wiki to benefit from it. and i don't make any of my professional development pages private...Why not start one for your school??!! Ooooer! now THAT is a great idea if you haven't done it already!

I love Me Some Wikispaces!

Of course, geek that i am, my love of Torchwood, & wanting to Save Ianto Jones forced me to create this ransom note!

don't know about the Torchwood controversy? have TV protests worked before? (Hint: Yes! Chuck) check out this brilliant blog post: Save the Coffee Boy, Save the World!
PS. Being Human on BBC America rocks, too!

Ok....back to #teachertuesday Twittering! i learn SO much from that!!!

Siftables: The next thing in Hands-On learning?

----
"MIT grad student David Merrill demos Siftables -- cookie-sized, computerized tiles you can stack and shuffle in your hands. These future-toys can do math, play music, and talk to their friends, too. Is this the next thing in hands-on learning?"

I'm frankly gobsmacked! WOW!....this just sets my mind a reeling with all the possibilities and then i go back to the thought...is this just another toy or the next wave of interactive manipulative's!? what say you?

comments sought & desired...
